A few words of advice to Avner Ronen

I saw this tweet and, since I like where Boxee is heading, I figured it was worth to respond with more than just 140 characters. I'll be brief, though.

- Start by stating clearly and in a bullet point style the things consumers want and are not getting right now. Try for this points to be brief.
- List the inefficiencies of the current system i.e. 24 hour networks yield to repeats and infomercials, both are a waste.
- Don't get sucked into metaphors. His argument "If al a Carte is the way of the future, then it should apply to the internet as well..." simply shows a lack of understanding of the specifics of the problems. Internet is not TV. Period. If he pulls out a metaphor it is probably because the point he is making does not apply to the real thing. Call him out if he does that.
- Be blunt. If he is wrong or if he lies about anything, start your response with "That is a lie, here is the truth..." or "That is not true..." (Obama is a champ at this one).
- Praise the good points he makes and the areas where you both agree. People don't want to root for the asshole (Again, just look at how Obama does this).

That is it. Good luck.
